April 1, 1951 - July 5, 2018

Randall R. Hill, 67, of Sanger, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his home in Sanger.

A son of Marvin “Mike” Milo and Norma Jean (Wittmaack) Hill, Randy was born on April 1, 1951, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, he attended Fairview School near Alta, Iowa, and Cornell School before graduating from Sioux Rapids High School. On April 5, 1980, he married Susan L. Zubradt in Hartley, Iowa. They were married for thirty-eight years.

A welder for most of his life, Randy, often, stated that he found his most rewarding job that of a “Greeter” at Wal-Mart in Denton. Indeed, he loved seeing and meeting new people on a daily basis, and he, always, enjoyed visiting the people and businesses in town. In addition, he treasured his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Hill; his grandparents: Martin and Mildred Wittmaack and Walter Hill; his longtime family friend, Harold Simonsen; his uncles and aunt, Vernon and Virgil Wittmaack, Melvin Friedrich, Leonard and Dorothy Hill, and Wendell Hills. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Hill, of Sanger; his son, Zachary Hill, and his wife, Robin, also of Sanger; his mother, Norma J. Hill, his sister, Sandy Nelson, and her husband, Rick; and his brother, Darcy Hill, all of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; his nephews, Jeremy Nelson, and his wife, Sara, and their children, Jaidon and Cameron, of Wall Lake, Iowa, and Dan Nelson, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and lastly but certainly the most important little guy in Randy’s life, his grandson, Wyatt, whom he adored with every fiber of his being.

A memorial service celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 4, 2018, at the Foundation Church, 2820 1410 W. 18th Street, Spencer, Iowa 51301.
