Marjorie Wadsley, age 88, of Nemaha, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, Iowa.

Marjorie Ina Noll was born to James and Lora (Devine) Noll on January 22, 1930, in rural Arthur, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at the Ida Grove United Methodist Church, she attended grade school at Blaine Township School #2 and graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1947. Next, she continued her education at the Success Secretarial School in Ottumwa, Iowa, graduating in 1948 as a stenographer. On June 5, 1949, she married Charles J. Wadsley at the Ida Grove United Methodist Church. Subsequently, they were blessed with six wonderful children: Kathryn, Joseph, Shirlee, Lona, C. Alan, and Roy.

Marjorie worked as a stenographer for a few years before becoming a very busy mother and farm wife. She attended church regularly at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa, serving as the Bell Choir Director for youth and adults for twenty-two years. In her free time, Marjorie enjoyed painting, creating pieces of scrimshaw art, and gardening. In addition, she and her husband liked camping regularly in their airstream, and she enjoyed buying and selling antiques.

Very much involved in her children’s lives, she helped judge 4-H and open class fair entries. Moreover, she served as a leader for the Girl Scouts, the Brownies, and the Cub Scouts. A Sunday School teacher for many years, she, also, belonged to the L.A.O. Neighborhood Club. Along with her creative talents, Marjorie loved to bake and decorate wedding cakes. In addition, she savored every moment she got to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marjorie will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marjorie is survived by her husband Charles J. Wadsley of Nemaha, Iowa; her children: Kathryn L. Wadsley, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Joseph L. (Karen) Wadsley, of Odebolt, Iowa, Shirlee M. Hawkins (companion Joe Hatcher), of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Lona L. (Don) Munger, of Storm Lake, Iowa, C. Alan (Angie) Wadsley, of Peterson, Iowa, and Roy D.
