Linda Mae Everidge, age 64, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Marathon, Iowa, died on January 26, 2018, in Council Bluffs.

Linda Mae Garton, a daughter of Erle Frank and Loella Mae (Geary) Garton was born at Storm Lake, Iowa, on July 24, 1953. She lived her youth and received her education at Marathon, Iowa, graduating from the Marathon High School. During the Vietnam era, she served in the United States Army from September 18, 1972 until her honorable discharge on April 16, 1976. She rose to the rank of sergeant and served in the finance and accounting department during her military career.

On December 28, 1973, Linda married Jerry Everidge at Augsburg, Germany. Subsequently, they were blessed with two sons, Shawn and Brandon. Throughout their married life, Linda and Jerry resided in Alabama, Illinois, and Iowa. Linda received her post high school education at the Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, Iowa. For a brief period, she worked as an administrative assistant in Storm Lake. At Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, she served as an executive secretary to the Director of Perinatology for twenty-four years. In addition, she enjoyed working with the beautiful flowers in her yard, scrapbooking, and collecting teapots.

Linda’s life in honored and cherished by her family which includes her husband, Jerry, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her two sons, Shawn (Laura) Everidge, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Brandon (Candice) Everidge, of Avoca, Iowa; two granddaughters, Emma and Elle Murray; and her brother, Jim Garton, of Marathon, Iowa; as well as by nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Denine Garton.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
