Gary James Brummer
March 30, 1938 - July 18, 2017

Gary James Brummer, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Lake Point Villa in Storm Lake.

Gary, a son of Leo and Theresa (Filips) Brummer, was born on March 30, 1938, in Waukon, Iowa. Growing up, he attended school in Waukon where he graduated from high school in 1956. Next, he enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves. Before he retired, he worked at John Deere in Waterloo for many years. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing or golfing. He, also, liked bowling and will be, deeply, missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Randall (Carol) and Brian Brummer, all of Storm Lake, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Brummer, of East Bethel, Minnesota; his grandchildren: April (Michael) Blackbourn; Abbey, Christopher, Jennifer, Matthew, and Michael (Tracy) Brummer; and Aimee (Bryan) Kuschke; and thirteen great grandchildren; as well as extended family members and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Brummer; his brother, Florence; and his sisters: Phyllis Opfer and Joan Cole.

There are no services planned at this time. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is overseeing the arrangements.
