Leroy Matthew Lantinen
March 21, 1958 - November 26, 2016

Leroy M. Lantinen, age 58, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at his home in Storm Lake. A son of the late Gust Lantinen and Beatrice Groth, he was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 21, 1958.

A lifelong Blackhawk hockey fan, movie fanatic, and connoisseur of punk and classic rock music, Leroy enjoyed reading science fiction books. Moreover, a jack-of-all-trades for many years, he loved working with his hands. For the past nine years, he had worked as a machine technician at the Tyson processing plant in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he had a tremendous work ethic and found an adopted family in the people there.

Survived by his estranged wife, Venus Ruffolo; his daughters, Athena (Tom) Lyons, of DeForest, Wisconsin, and Autumn Lantinen, of Fort Collins, Colorado; four grandkids, Mary, Anthony, William, and Gianna; his brothers, Paul and Keith; and his sisters, Barbara, Joyce, and Karen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, Wisconsin, with Rev. Gary Reynolds officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
