Barbara A. Zevenbergen, age 68, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Barbara Ann Robinson, a daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Robinson, was born in Spencer, Iowa, on March 30, 1948. She lived her youth and received her education in Marathon, Iowa, graduating with the Class of 1966.

On July 12, 1969, Barb married Jerry Zevenbergen in Storm Lake, Iowa. To their union, four children were born: Mark, Jason, Jill, and Rachel. Barb and Jerry were blessed to have shared forty-seven years of married life.

A dependable, hard-working, and gracious employee, Barb worked over the years at Pamida, the Four Sons, Page’s Bakery, the Blue Jean Factory, and most recently at Wal-Mart in Storm Lake.

Faithfully, Barb attended the Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta. She, in particular, enjoyed reading, doing counted cross stitch, sewing, and doing all kinds of crafts and ceramics.

Barb’s life is loved and celebrated by her family which includes her husband, Jerry, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Mark Zevenbergen, of Shakopee, Minnesota, Jason Zevenbergen, of Alta, Iowa, Jill Zevenbergen (John McGrane) of Richmond, Virginia, and Rachel (Nick) Hasenclever, of Fort Madison, Iowa; her grandchildren: Jada, Micah, Henry, Owen, and Ryker; her mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Robinson, of Everly, Iowa; her brothers, Bob and Larry Robinson, both of Marathon, Iowa, Terry (Beverly) Robinson, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Todd Robinson, of Coppell, Texas, and Chad Robinson, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and her sisters, Bonnie (Andrew) Hoyt, of Perry, Iowa, Becky Laidig (Tim Newbrough), of Lake Park, Iowa, and Sarah Robinson (Shannon Threlkeld) of Bloomington, Indiana; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Summit Evangelical Free Church in Alta, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon. Visitation will take place Sunday, September 18, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
