Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - Aug 14, 1947 - Harriet Rebecca Cossell was born at Streator, IL on Aug 30, 1857, and died in a local hospital Sunday following a two weeks illness.

She was married at Streator, IL on Feb 8, 1877 to George W Snyder. To this union seven children were born, of which four survive: Mrs George (Grace) Wise; Harry and Rollie of Storm Lake; and Ralph of Peoria, IL.

Three children preceded her: Nettie Madson, who died in 1927, and two who passed away in infancy.

The Snyder family moved from Illinois to Iowa in 1887 and have remained in Buena Vista county since. They resided on a farm south of Storm Lake during the greater part of their 61 years here.

Mr Snyder died in 1932 and Mrs Snyder spent the following years with her children.

Surviving are the four children and 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs Art Redfern, Mrs James Skaggs of Streator; and Mrs Martha Dykeman of Chicago. One sister and four brothers also preceded Mrs Snyder.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hughes Funeral home. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.
