Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Fri, Jun 10, 1904 - The people of Storm Lake were again called upon last Saturday to mourn the death of one of their favorite daughters, when Mrs William L Sedgley was stricken with a fatal illness, following the birth of a son and shortly afterwards died, despite the efforts of the physicians to save her life.
Death came but a few hours after she was stricken, but the babe whose life was brought at such a price, lives. The news of her sudden demise was heard with the most profound sorrow by the people of this city where she had been reared.
Clara Schaller Sedgley only daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Schaller, was born in Eden township, Sac County, July 9, 1878 and four years later was brought to this city by her parents and from that time until the hour of her death she has made her residence in this city.
On Oct 22, 1901 she was united in marriage to William L Sedgley and they immediately took up their residence in this city.
She leaves a devoted husband; her father and mother, Mrs and Mrs Fred Schaller; and one brother, George J Schaller of this city; as well as the infant son, of whom the grandmother will take charge, to experience the irreparable loss.
Short family services were held at the home Monday afternoon and public services were held in the Lakeside Church. Interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery.
