Kenneth Delano Lindquist
January 23, 1934 - June 17, 2016

Kenneth D. Lindquist, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

“Ken” Lindquist, a son of Nils Elmer and Bessie (Carlson) Lindquist, was born on January 23, 1934, on a farm near Early, Iowa. Baptized and later confirmed in the Catholic Church, Ken attended country school near Odebolt. Then, in 1952, he graduated from Early Consolidated High School. Next, he worked briefly in the trucking business before joining the United States Army. After proudly serving his country, he was honorably discharged on February 28, 1962. He, then, spent six years in the United States Army Reserves.

On December 27, 1955, Ken married Marian Blass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids. Subsequently, they were blessed with four children: Kathy, Kenny, Kim, and Kevin. Larer, as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux Rapids, he served as an usher.

Ken had a lifelong passion for farming. Always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, he did so quite frequently. He, also, loved reading and watching his grandchildren as they participated in their various activities. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marian Lindquist, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: Kathy (Rod) Reiling, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Kenny (Paula) Lindquist, of Albert City, Iowa, Kim (Steve) Conover, of Odebolt, Iowa, and Kevin (Jamie) Lindquist, of Albert City, Iowa; his grandchildren: Grant (Jaime), Heath (Jay), and Terrin Brecher; Derek and Devin (Ashley) Conover; Andrea, Connor, Ethan, Kaleb, Tanner, and Tyler (Taryn) Lindquist; Nicole (Brad) Peter; and Brad (Michelle), Jake (Brittany), Josh, Katie, Ryan, Todd (Megan), and Tricia Reiling; his great grandchildren: Addison, Beau, Blake, Brekken, Coby, Jackson, Kailynn, Liam, Lleyton, Maya, and Tysen; his brother, Robert Lindquist, of Seattle, Washington; his sisters: Carol Hutton, of Le Mars, Iowa, and Mary Wayne, of Sun City, Arizona; and his brother-in-law, Lonnie (Polly) Blass, of Casey, Iowa; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Joan (Dick) Cook and Donna Erickson; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Irene Blass; and his lifelong friend, Robert Westcott.

A Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Laurens, Iowa. Burial will follow in Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake, Iowa. Visitation will take place Monday, June 20, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a recitation of the rosary, all at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
