Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune - Thu, Dec 21, 1950 - Funeral services were held from the Hughes Funeral home Wednesday afternoon for Mrs Emma Sandquist, who passed away at the Swedish Old Peoples home at Boone Sunday afternoon. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Emma Charlotte Hegdahl, daughter of John and Eva Hegdahl, was born in Motalia, Sweden, March 4, 1864 and died at Boone on Sunday Dec 17, at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 13 days.

On Oct 17, 1880 she came to the home of her uncle at Alta. She was employed in Storm Lake and Des Moines until Jan 3, 1883, when she was married to Frank Sandquist of Storm Lake. She continued to reside in Storm Lake until May 1946, when she moved to Mason City to live with her daughter, Mrs Frank Pearce. Since March 1948, she has lived in Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1904 and by all her sisters and brothers.

Mrs Sandquist is survived by her daughter, Mrs Mabel Pearce of Mason City, a granddaughter, two grandsons, four great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

As a pioneer of Storm Lake she took a keen interest in its progress and for 58 years had been a subscriber to the Storm Lake papers.
