STORM LAKE PILOT TRIBUNE - Fri, Dec 27, 1907 - Mrs Catherine Toohey died of heart failure at her home in this city on Monday Dec 23, 1907.

Catherine Tierney was born in Tipperary, Ireland Dec 12, 1832. At 7 years of age she moved with her parents to New London, Ontario, Canada, where on Nov 10, 1850 she was married to Patrick Toohey. They resided near New London until 1870 when they moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 1871 established their residence on a homestead in Providence township this county, where they lived until 1884, when they moved to a farm two miles east of Storm Lake.

Her husband died March 14, 1886 and soon afterward, Mrs Toohey moved to this city which has since been her place of residence.

She was the mother of 12 children, two of whom died in infancy; John and Wallace died in August 1885; Dennis, Nov 23, 1890; and Thomas April 6, 1902.

Those living are Mrs James McKenna and P.J. Toohey of Providence; Cornelius, Mrs Fred Moor, and James T Toohey of Spencer, Iowa; and M.F. Toohey of Chicago.

All of her children except Cornelius and her brother Michael Tierney of Fort Dodge were present at her funeral which was held on Thursday from St Mary's church.
