STORM LAKE PILOT-TRIBUNE - Oct 30, 1947 - Dr J.F. Hutchinson, past of the Methodist church in Storm Lake officiated for funeral services for Charles Ernest Roberts, 64, who died early Sunday at his home in Hartley. The services took place Wednesday afternoon at Storm Lake. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Following is the obituary read at the services. Charles Ernest Roberts was born Sept 7, 1883, in Lafayette county, WI, the son of Mr and Mrs Richard Roberts. At the age of 6 months he came with his parents to Buena Vista county, residing here until 1920.

He was married to Osaa Zell Weaver on Jan 26, 1909. In 1920 the family moved to Dickinson county. For the past two years the Roberts resided at Hartley.

Mr Roberts is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs Ersel Mahni of Hartley; two sons, Lloyd Roberts, Parkers Prairie, MN, and Richard Roberts of Hartley; 6 grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Walter and Nettie Roberts, Storm Lake and other relatives.
