Earl W. Soper, Sr.
January 3, 1936 - May 6, 2016

Earl W. Soper, Sr., age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Earl W. Soper, Sr., a son of Charles and Ester (Boe) Soper, was born on January 3, 1936, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. After graduating from Emmetsburg High School, he married Joyce Norenberg. Subsequently, they were blessed with six children: Annette, Lynn, Karalyn, Danny, James, and Earl, Jr. He enjoyed the years he spent working at Iowa Lime in Alden, Iowa.

An avid bass fisherman, Earl participated in many fishing tournaments throughout his lifetime. He, also, liked watching stock car races, NASCAR, listening to country music, gardening, watching westerns and the Sci-Fi channel, and taking trips to Nashville, Tennessee. Earl, also, enjoyed helping out with the Buena Vista Cat and Dog Rescue program, and he became an integral part of Kountry Kennels.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Karalyn Snedeker, of Newell, Iowa; and his granddaughter, Krisondra (Justin) Freidhof, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his son, Earl (Jackie) Soper, Jr., of Boone, Iowa; his step-granddaughter, Trisha Bennett, his step great grandchild, Skielar Bennett, and his step great-great-grandchild, Preston, all of Boone, Iowa; and his sister, Sarah Reinke, of Minnesota; as well as extended family members and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers; a son, Lynn; an uncle, Les Soper; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Boyer.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
