Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - May 12, 1927 - Wallace McArthur was born at Guelph Ontario, Canada, Sept 26, 1869. His parents were natives of Scotland. He came with them to LeMars, Iowa at the age of 12. He was educated in the LeMars public schools and after attended the college which has since developed into Western Union.

Mr McArthur was one of 14 children, nine of whom survive.

He was united in marriage July 29, 1897 to Gertrude Plumb at LeMars. He began his career as a druggist at LeMars, working in a drug store there for 8 years. He then removed to Perry where he engaged in business for himself. He removed to Storm Lake in December 20 years ago. Since that time he had been active in community affairs despite diabetes with which he had suffered for 15 years.

Mr McArthur leaves to mourn, the faithful wife and three children: Marshall McArthur of Omaha; Mrs Stanton S Faville of Des Moines; and Miss Jean McArthur, who is a member of the class graduating from the Storm Lake high school this spring. There are 3 grandchildren: Marylin and Betty McArthur and Richard Faville.

Wallace McArthur and his cheery smile will be missed. His optimistic life was an excellent example to the entire community.

Mr McArthur went last week to Omaha to consult a specialist about a developing cataract. He was taken suddenly ill and Mrs McArthur was notified. She hastened to Omaha and assisted in bringing her husband to Storm Lake. He failed to rally and death came as stated.
