Mary Alice "Toodie" Hansen
January 9, 1930 - April 29, 2016Mary Alice “Toodie” Hansen, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Friday, April 29, 2016, at her home in Storm Lake.
Mary Alice Anderson, a daughter of Carl and Alice (Bell) Anderson, was born on January 9, 1930, in Galva, Iowa. She attended Storm Lake High School, graduating in 1947. On January 19, 1949, she married Raymond “Shorty” Hansen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Subsequently, they were blessed with two children, Greg and Monie. Toodie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
Toodie enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, Raymond. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dr. Greg Hansen, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Monie (Ron) Person, of Portland, Oregon; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Christina) Person, of Livermore, California, Jennifer (Michael) Powell, of Ephrata, Washington, Dr. Chris (Bekah) Hansen, of Alta, Iowa, Beth (Dr. Jamie) Seidl, of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and Colleen (Andrew) Koppes, of the Twin Cities, Minnesota; her great-grandchildren: Tyler and Elizabeth Person, of Livermore, California; Evan and Austin Powell, of Ephrata, Washington; Ray, Michael, and John Hansen, of Alta, Iowa; and James and Henry Seidl, of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Toodie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shorty; and her sisters, Helen Renshaw and Doris Jones.
A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
