In 1879, the family moved to Friend, Neb., which was their home until in 1901, when they moved to this city, where Mr. Hoxsey continued to live until Mrs. Hoxsey's death when he went to make his home with his son. Dr. H.P. Hoxsey.

He is survived by his two sons, Dr. Hoxsey mentioned above, Edward D. Hoxsey of this city, and his niece, Mrs. Chas. H.J. Mitchell, also of this city, who was reared in his home. He is the last and the oldest member of his family.

Funeral services were held at Red Cloud on Monday afternoon at four o'clock after which the remains, accompanied by Dr. Hoxsey, were brought to this city. Funeral services were held at the Mitchell home at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. T.A. Ambler, D.D., and interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery.

During his long life, the deceased took an active interest in the affairs of the day and maintained that interest to the end. In earlier years he was a member of the Masonic fraternity. He was a member of the Presbyterian church in this city and was always true to its teachings. He is held in most kindly memory by many friends.
