Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - January 31, 1913 - Lacy Pearl Houck was born at Danville, IL on Feb 4th, 1884, and died Jan 28th, 1913 after a lingering illness consumption being the cause of her untimely taking away. She was thus only 28 years, 11 months, and 24 days old.
She first came to Iowa in 1899, with her parents, Mr and Mrs A.D. Wilson, and lived north of Newell. She was married to C.J. Houck in Storm Lake Sept 11, 1906. Soon after their marriage Mr and Mrs Houck removed to the state of Washington and soon after Mrs Houck began to fail in health.
Her husband took her to Arizona for a time and finally to southern California in the vain search for health. In the latter state they lived for over two years. They returned to Iowa last August bringing back the remains of an infant daughter, who was buried here Aug 20, last.
From that time Mrs Houck declined rapidly and about 4 months ago was confined to her bed, suffering severely, but patient through all.
Mrs Houck left her husband and one child, Merton, a five year old boy. She is also survived by her father, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Funeral services were held at the home on Hudson street, Thursday morning.
