May 7, 1879 - Storm Lake Pilot - Death of Thomas Highland on Thursday morning last. News was brought to town of the death of Thomas Highland, an old and highly respected citizen of Maple Valley Township in this county. He was in usual health on Wednesday but died very suddenly that night. His death was attributed to heart disease or apoplexy.
