Jan 3, 1919 - The funeral of Mrs H. Doolittle, mention of whose death at an early hour on Christmas day was made last week, was held on Friday afternoon at the Doolittle home on Lake avenue, Rev T.A. Ambler, D.D. officiating. Interment was made in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Olive Eliza, daughter of Josiah and Eliza Rand, was born in Stowe, Vermont May 9, 1838 and died at the Doolittle home in this city on Dec 25, 1918.

When but a young woman she came west with her parents to Mokern, Illinois. On Feb 25, 1868 she was united in marriage with Horatio Doolittle and to them four children were born: Clarence Herbert who died at the age of 11; Mrs West of Presha, S.D.; Mrs Fred Wellington of Worthington, MN; and Walter Doolittle of Sibley. All of the living children were permitted to be present at the funeral services. She also leaves besides the husband, one sister, Mrs Mary Sedgley of this city.

Mr and Mrs Doolittle moved to Kentland, Ind shortly after their marriage, were they lived for 38 years, moving to Storm Lake 12 years ago, where they have since resided.

Mrs Doolittle in her quiet unassuming way, was a most beautiful character. During her lasts illness her constantly expressed wish was that she might be spared until Christmas day. She has been for years a member of the Presbyterian church and died with the comfort of her faith.
