Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - April 6, 1906 - Early News: At the home of J.C. Amarine, died in this city Thursday March 22, 1906, Mrs. Ada Catherine Graham Harwood, aged 81 years, 6 months, and 7 days.

Ada Catherine Graham, born Sept. 14, 1825, near Dayton, Ohio, was married to Benjamin F Harwood Feb 24, 1850. Mr. and Mrs. Harwood made their home for some time in Illinois and came to Iowa in March 1879, settling near Storm Lake.

To this union were born three sons and two daughters, all of whom are gone. A grandson Elde Rinehart, whose where abouts is unknown and a niece, Sophia Higman of Decatur, Illinois, also survive her.

Mrs. Harwood evidently had lived her allotted time and died at a ripe old age. Her life had been useful and helpful in many ways. She had enjoyed good physical health and until the last, few weeks ago, infirmities had not weighed heavy upon her but during the few weeks preceding her death she had become almost a child again thru the frailties of age but her Masters will be done.

Mrs. Harwood has made her home for the past two years with her son-in-law, J. C. Amarine and family. Mr. Amarine's first wife, Margaret M. Harwood, having died in Feb 1872.

The funeral was held from the Amarine residence Friday afternoon, March 23 and the remains interred in the Storm Lake cemetery the following Saturday.
