Carolyn Ann Wessendorf
February 16, 1945 - October 27, 2015Carolyn Wessendorf, age 70, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community.
A daughter of James Leroy and Helen Mae (Hall) Sorensen, Carolyn was born on February 16, 1945, in Plainview, Nebraska. She attended school in Page, Nebraska. For many years, she worked as a waitress and was also involved in the auto body industry.
Carolyn loved to cook, and she, always, had cookies and other treats available at her home. Her favorites included banana cream pie. She, also, enjoyed caring for her flowerbeds and fishing. Most of all, however, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her life partner, Dale Claypool, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Terry Asmus, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Melissa (Richard) Adams, of Creighton, Nebraska; her grandchildren: Joe (Jessie Dennis) and Josh Asmus and January Carpenter; her great grandchild, Lucy Asmus; her brothers: Duane “Butch” and Doug (Carol) Sorensen; and her sisters: Linda Jensen, Vonnie (Ron) Beckmann, Sandy Wessendorf, and Jan (Jerry) Frank; as well as extended family members and friends. Also left to cherish her memory are her special grandchildren: Faith and Stevie, Alexis and Amanda, and Randy and Nick. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. There will be no burial at this time. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
