Arlene Boettcher
July 6, 1920 - March 27, 2014Arlene Meta Boettcher, a daughter of Ernest and Lilly (Grote) Boettcher, was born on July 6, 1920, in Grant Township, Buena Vista County, Iowa. She spent her childhood years in the Grant Township area where she attended Zion Lutheran School in rural Storm Lake, Iowa, and later graduated from Storm Lake High School in Storm Lake.
Arlene enjoyed embroidering and traveling in her younger years. She was a life-long Missouri Synod Lutheran and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Following her schooling, Arlene worked as a telephone operator and later as a domestic housekeeper.
Arlene passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Orville Boettcher; and two sisters, Viola Buchholz and Hilda Schramm.
Left to cherish her memory are several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, Pastor John Syvertson officiating.
VISITATION: Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
MUSIC: "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace."
INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, Iowa.
