September 18, 1954 - July 31, 2014Al Schutz, age 59, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Alan Schutz was born on September 18, 1954, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, a son of Robert and Betty (Strong) Schutz.
Al attended Mallard Community Schools. After completing his high school education, he went to work for Schutz Brothers’ Market for six years. Then, he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, where he opened up his own commodity firm. After the firm closed, he went to work at Al’s Inc. A very dedicated worker, he was very loyal to his family and friends.
Al is survived by his parents: Robert and Betty Schutz; his sister, Barbara (Bernard) Caspar; his brother, James (Marcia) Schutz; his niece and nephews, Jeremiah, Jessica, and Joshua Schutz; his best friends, Don (Mary) Diehl, and their children, Paul and Abby Diehl; his good friend, Dennis Peters; and the James Bauer family.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mallard, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
