June 1, 1945 - September 11, 2014Michael Foust, age 69, of Alta, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at his home in Alta.
Michael L. Foust, Sr., was born on June 1, 1945, in Storm Lake, Iowa, a son of James and Florence (Sansen) Foust. He attended school in Storm Lake.
On March 7, 1964, Michael married Cindy Ellis in Jackson, Minnesota. Subsequently, they were blessed with five children: Debbie, Teresa, Michael, Jr., Cory, and Michele.
Michael worked in power line construction and then, later, at Tyson Foods.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside and shooting guns with his son. Most of all, however, he treasured the time he was able to spend with his family. He will be remembered as a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy Foust, of Alta, Iowa; his children: Debra (Forrest) Laidlaw, of Des Moines, Iowa, Cory (Andrea) Foust, of Alta, Iowa, and Michele (Tate) Nelson, of Wayne, Nebraska; his grandchildren: Joe (Mickenzie) and Jade Nelson, of Des Moines, Iowa, Josh Ryherd, of Sioux City, Iowa, Jeremy (Kelly) Ryherd, of Galva, Iowa, Jennifer (Casey) Matthews, of Aurelia, Iowa, Keegan Kruse, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Tadum, Alisa, Ella, and Alyvia, of Alta, Iowa, and Koby and Chase Nelson, of Wayne, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Foust, of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as extended family members and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Foust, Jr.; his daughter, Teresa Kruse; his brother, Jim Foust; and his sister, Joyce Fredricks.
A Time of Remembrance will be held Monday, September 15, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
