Lucille Barnes, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lucille Barnes was born on September 15, 1927, in Norwood, Louisiana, a daughter of Archie and Laura (Augusta) Barnes.

Baptized and confirmed in the Baptist church as a youth, Lucille attended grade school in Louisiana, and then later moved to Chicago to be closer to family. She was an active member of the Rising Sun Church in Chicago

A proud mother of four children, George Stanley, Anthony, Willie, and Renee, Lucille deeply cared for her family by providing a safe home for her children. She also loved to read her Bible and to cook.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: George, Willie, and Renee Barnes, all of Chicago, Illinois, and Anthony (Alisa) Barnes, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Dion, Aalliyah, Ariaya, and Alisa Barnes and Shamika, Derrence, and Aviana; and her sisters: Lizzie, Essied, and Louise; as well as nieces and nephews; extended family members; and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Laura; five brothers, and six sisters.
