Jerry Drzycimski, age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Countryside Estates in Cherokee, Iowa.

Jerry Dean Drzycimski was born on March 1, 1933, in rural Linn Grove, Iowa, the son of Jack and Ona (Theeler) Drzycimski. He was baptized into the Lutheran Church.

Growing up, Jerry attended school in Linn Grove, graduating from Highview High School in 1950. After high school, he attended National Business Training in Sioux City, Iowa.

On August 12, 1951, Jerry married Shirley Nelson from rural Aurelia in Marcus, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Brian, Bruce, and Deb.

A member of St. Mark”s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Jerry had a love for the land and enjoyed farming. He also worked off the farm at Vista Products canning, Hultgren Gerlach John Deere, Greg Mangold, and Professional Seeds in Alta.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed boating, hunting, and fishing, and he loved bowling and woodworking. He treasured his family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked watching sports and had a strong passion for the Highview Alumni. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Drzycimski, of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: Brian (Janice) Drzycimski, of Alta, Iowa, Bruce (Deb) Drzycimski, of Slater, Iowa, and Deb (Al) Kerns, of Aplington, Iowa; his grandchildren: Staci (Steve) Mullinnix, of Dallas, Texas, Dustin (Steph) Drzycimski, of Alta, Iowa, Chris (Sheri) Baker, of Spencer, Iowa, Brent (Sara) Drzycimski, of Huxley, Iowa, Josh Kerns (girlfriend, Kelly), of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jake (Missy) Kerns, of LeMars, Iowa; his great grandchildren: Warren, Elaine, Harvey, and Luther Mullinnix; Emily and Kramer Drzycimski; Chloe, Sam, Quinn, and Meredith Baker; Kane, Payton, and Delainey Kerns; and his sister, Eileen (Les) Shellum, of Spencer, Iowa; as well as extended family members and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ona Drzycimski, and one brother and his wife, Kenneth and Wanda Drzycimski.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia, Iowa.
