Clara Theresa Waldeck, age 80, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on June 13, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Clara Theresa Calles was born on August 12, 1932, in Santa Barbara, California, the daughter of Geronimo Mesa and Teresa (Martinez) Calles. Baptized as an infant, Clara attended school in Santa Barbara, graduating from Santa Barbara High School in 1950.
In the mid-1950s, Clara moved to Riverside, California, where she raised her children. In November of 1989, she married Lester “Red” Waldeck in Riverside, California.
In her spare time, Clara enjoyed reading, dancing, and gardening. Valuing her family and friends, she treasured the time she was able to spend with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter: Patricia (Bryan) Hartzell, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her granddaughter, Julia Rose Duran, of Riverside, California; her brothers: Anthony (Mary) Calles, of Santa Barbara, California, and Gilbert (Leandra) Calles, of Santa Maria, California; and her sister, Isabel Leon, of Riverside, California; as well as extended family members and many friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Teresa Martinez and Geronimo Mesa Calles; her husband, Lester “Red” Waldeck; her son, Mark F. Duran; and one brother, Henry Calles.
