October 18, 1963 - April 15, 2013

Ranette C Nelson, age 49, of Storm Lake and formerly of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013, at her home in Storm Lake.

The daughter of Oscar, Jr., and Lois (Samuelson) Nelson, Ranette Corinne Nelson was born on October 18, 1963, in Storm Lake. After graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1982, she went on to attend Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg. Employed at Joyce's Greenery and Pizza Hut in Storm Lake for over twenty years, she most recently worked at Subway in Storm Lake. At one time, she had also worked at the BV Work Activity Center in Storm Lake.

Ranette was a member of the Elfsborg Lutheran Church. She loved music, bowling and car racing. She paid special attention to older people and children. She really enjoyed her two airplane trips with friends and longed to go again. Her friendly smile greeted many people, and as her family, we are grateful for her life.

Survivors include her parents, Oscar, Jr., and Lois Nelson, of Pocahontas; her sister, Twila Nelson, of Pocahontas; her brother, Kevin Nelson, of Storm Lake; and her niece, Kelsie Nelson, of Pocahontas.
