Stephen Lee Julius
March 21, 1947 - April 25, 2013

Stephen Lee Julius, age 66, of Storm Lake, died at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown on Monday, April 25, 2013. He had resided there since 2002.

Born March 21, 1947, in Storm Lake, Steve was the son of William H. and Maxine Ford Julius.

He attended Storm Lake schools, graduating in 1965. He earned his BA from Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe, Louisiana. Majoring in music and education, he also enrolled in the Army ROTC.

Steve brought joy to many people through music. A professional trumpet player, he toured with the USO. At the Veteran's Home, he played trumpet solos and sang and directed the choir.

Two children, David and Michael Julius, and two nephews survive him. Other survivors include Ann Julius Tell, of Aurelia; Joanne Julius, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and John Julius, of Chandler, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Maxine, and his brother, Michael Dean.
