Baptized in Fonda and confirmed at the Congregational Church in Sioux Rapids, she attended country school and graduated as valedictorian of her class at Lincoln Lee High School in Sioux Rapids. She continued her education at Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls (now UNI# and taught in a country school outside of Sac City.

For many years, Beulah was a farmer and homemaker. After her children left home, she substitute taught and worked as a nurse's aide before completing her working career in the Motor Vehicle Department at the Sac County Courthouse, a position she also held for many years.

A wonderful mother and devoted wife, she loved caring for her family and home. She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, watching all sports, and, especially, playing cards. She belonged to several Card Clubs. A very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday school, served as an Elder, joined the Session and the Ladies' Aid Society.
