Andrea S. Gonzalez, age 58, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on March 10, 2013, at her home in Storm Lake.
Andrea Silvia Duarte was born on September 9, 1954, in Durango, Mexico, the daughter of Pedro Duarte and Andrea Castro.
On February 11, 1971, she married Francisco Javier Gonzalez. They were blessed with five children: Maria, Silvia, Cruz, Francisco, and Fanny.
Andrea loved watching birds and gardening. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, singing, and cooking for her family. She also liked to travel. Above all, however, she cherished spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Francisco Javier Gonzalez, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Maria Gonzalez (Saul Muniz), of Lakeside, Iowa, Silvia (Jim) Brown, of Brandon, South Dakota, Cruz Curry, of Geneseo, Illinois, Francisco Gonzalez (Maria Vazquez), of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Fanny Duarte (Jamie Hammer), of Alta, Iowa; her grandchildren: Saul, Jessica, and Hillary Muņiz; Andrea and Roberto Ramirez; Justin, Bibiana, and Allison Curry; Angelica, Francisco, Emily, and Camila Gonzalez; and Pako, Diego, and Jaycob Garcia-Hammer; her great granddaughter, Sofia Eliana Muņiz; her brothers: Pedro and Carlos Duarte, of Mexico; and Martin Duarte, of Minnesota; and her sisters: Julia, Victoria, Alicia, Mayela, and Rosa Duarte, all of Mexico, and Bertha Reyes, of California; as well as extended family members and many friends.
Andrea was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Duarte; and two brothers, Jose Luis Duarte and Jose Pepito Duarte.
Visitation: 6:00-9:00 p.m., March 12, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
