Ruth Galbraith, age 83, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City. Mayme Ruth O’Brien was born on December 31, 1929, the daughter of Harry William and Flo Ella (Darr) O’Brien. She received her grade school education at Marathon, Iowa, and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1948.

On August 12, 1950, Ruth married LeRoy Galbraith in Lawton, Iowa. They made their home in Sac City where LeRoy farmed. This union was blessed with four children: Terri, Connie, Debbie, and Mike.

An accounting practitioner, Ruth worked for Clifton’s Tax Service in Storm Lake until she opened her own business in Sac City in 1980. She retired in 2004.

Ruth enjoyed reading, going to Sloan with LeRoy, and bowling. Her family brought her great joy. She loved spending time with them and attending their activities when they were younger. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters: Terri (Bob) Coats, of Sac City, Connie Galbraith, of Des Moines, and Debbie Flinn, of Indianola; her son, Mike (Lori) Galbraith, of Sac City; her grandchildren: Jennifer (Rick) Soll, of Sac City, Jill (John) Brinkman, of Early, Justin (Carrie) Coats, of Sac City, Tyler and Jessica Flinn, of Indianola, Christina Galbraith, of Sac City, and Gavin Galbraith, of Omaha; and her great-grandchildren: Larissa Coats and Dylan Soll, of Sac City, Sonnie Michelle and Maymie and Hayden Brinkman, of Early, and Riley and Cash Coats, of Sac City; as well as many extended family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy, on August 30, 2011; and her son-in-law, David Flinn.

Funeral Service: Private family service on January 09, 2013, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City, Iowa.
Interment: Private family burial on January 09, 2013, at Cory Grove Cemetery, rural Sac City, Iowa.
