Evelyn M. Boese, age 92, of Aurelia, Iowa, and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died January 14, 2013, at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia.
Evelyn Marie Lange was born on June 18, 1920, in Lincoln Township, rural Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (Peterson) Lange. Baptized on July 4, 1920, at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake, she was later confirmed there as well on March 25, 1934.
Growing up, she attended school at Lincoln Township #8 in rural Storm Lake through the 8th grade.
On June 18, 1938, Evelyn married Merlyn W. Boese at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in rural Newell, Iowa. To this union, three daughters and one son were born: Beverly, Jerald, Barbara, and Lynette. They raised their family on the farm in Grant Township.
Evelyn was a very dedicated member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. She worked as a Tupperware saleslady for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed making quilts and decorating cakes of all types. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Beverly, and her husband, Ernie Glienke, of rural Aurelia, Iowa, Barbara, and her husband, Paul Posivio, of Calmar, Iowa, and Lynette, and her husband, Randy York, of Waco, Texas; her grandchildren: Brian and Cindy Glienke, Dale and Kris Glienke, and Keith and Marcy Glienke, all of Aurelia, Lois and Roger Morris, of Spencer, Iowa, Brent and Tami Posivio, of Iowa City, Iowa, Jackie and Todd Feller, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Justin and Danielle York, of Houston, Texas, Jamie and Ed Brunson, of Germany, and Josh and Katie York, of Houston, Texas; her great grandchildren: Adam (fiancée, Amy Kennedy), Stacie, Courtney, Kyle, Ashlee Jason, and Brandon Glienke; Levi, Dana, and Tanner Morris; Michael and Luke Posivio; Scott Feller; and Kelsi and Sydney Brunson; as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merlyn; her son, Jerald; her great grandson, Cody; her sisters: Mary (Otto) Beckfield, Mildred (Norman) Gnewuch, Irene (Orville) Ehlers; and her brother, Albert (Irene) Lange.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., January 17, 2013, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., January 18, 2013, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa.
