Edith Pearson
October 4, 1908 - April 17, 2012

Edith Pearson was born October 4, 1908, to Charlie and Minnie Aspholm Miller on a farm near Albert City. She was baptized and confirmed in the Hjunhead Lutheran Church of Albert City. Edith graduated from Albert City High School in 1926 and attended Iowa State College for one year.

On November 22, 1931, she married Alvin Pearson who passed away suddenly in 1944. Edith worked for many years in the school lunch room, at the Albert City Savings Bank, and at Superior Manufacturing. She spent many hours volunteering for various organizations and community activities. She served on the first board for Young at Heart which purchased the building for the Senior Center. After retiring, she worked at Pleasant View Nursing home as a dietary assistant.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her sister, Freda Fjellin; and her son, Terry.

She is survived by her children, Allen Pearson, Arlene Hagen, and Phyllis Ransom; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Edith’s favorite times were spent with her family and friends, who will miss her smile and kind support. An example and inspiration for all, she lived a life of dignity, respectfulness, and purpose.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Burial will be in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. Visitation will take place Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the family present the entire time at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
