Lorna Lee Jahde, 66, of Alta, passed away on December 14, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Holstein following a lengthy illness
.

Lorna was born Sunday, July 24, 1939, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to Reginald and Ida (Murphy) Hitchcock. She moved to Alta with her family when she was three years old and graduated from Alta High School in 1956.

After receiving her nursing education, Lorna worked at various nursing homes. Later, she earned a Registered Nursing Degree and continued to work at area nursing homes and hospitals.

Lorna married Allen Jahde on August 28, 1970, in Aurelia. She enjoyed shopping, having coffee with her girlfriends, and spending time with her grandchildren, especially by the pool.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ida Johnson.

Lorna is survived by her husband, Allen, of Alta; two sons, Thomas Schmitt, and his special friend, Barbara Brummond, of New Hampton, and Craig Schmitt, and his wife, Shelley, of Windsor, California; one daughter, Sally Johnson, and her husband, Bryan, of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Andria, Jessica, Amanda, and Patrick Johnson and Zachary, Eli, and Elizabeth Schmitt; one brother, Bill Hitchcock, and his wife, Christina, of Berryville, Alaska; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Lorna Lee Jahde will be held Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Bible Christian Outreach Center with Pastor Loren Carlson officiating. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Alta.
