Judith Tobin
February 22, 1944 - December 25, 2011

Thursday, December 29, 2011

Judith Dee Tobin of Denton, Texas, was called home to the kingdom of heaven to be with the Lord on His son's birthday, December 25, 2011, after a very short battle with cancer. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She enjoyed nothing more than being around her family and will be missed terribly.

One of ten children, Judy was born in Storm Lake on February 22, 1944, to Archie and Alice Barber. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1963.

On April 15, 1964, she married Dennis P. Tobin in Bagley. They had three daughters. After her husband's death in 1985, she moved to Denton, Texas. She enjoyed her many friends at Bible study, her Wellness Center, and her many pets, mostly her little puppy that she called Maya Mischa Monkey.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis; her brothers, Jack, William, and Douglas Barber; her sisters, Saundra Barber and Marlene O'Dell; her mother-in-law, Ruth Tobin Schramm; father-in-law, David Tobin; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Finnell; her brother-in-law, Larry Tobin; and her nephew, Scott Barber.

She is survived by her daughters, Kristine Ziesmer, of Chugiak, Arkansas, and Kimberly and Kathi Tobin, of Denton, Texas; her grandchildren Shania and Tyler Ziesmer, of Chugiak, Arkansas; her son-in-law, Ronny Ziesmer, of Chugiak, Arkansas; her sisters, Dianne Sliefert (Donald), of Alta, Nita Lynn Zitzmann (Gary), of Marietta, Georgia, and Suzanne Koehler, of Newton, Illinois; her brother, James Barber (Syd), of Alta; and her brother-in-law, Allen Tobin (Loretta), of Sioux City; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Denton, Texas, at a later date. Another memorial will be held in Storm Lake in the spring.

Her family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Association and the American Lung Association.
