Michael Dean Goldin
April 18, 1990 - October 24, 2011Tuesday, November 22, 2011
Michael Dean Goldin died unexpectedly Monday, October 24, 2011, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Michael was the son of Margaret Irene Bryant and Kevin Goldin. He was born April 18, 1990, in Omaha, Nebraska. Following his mother's untimely death in December of 1993, Michael and his brother, Curtis, moved to Phoenix with their father.
Michael graduated from Tempe New School for the Arts and Academics in 2008. He had many trials in his short life and battled with addiction. For a while after graduation while he was trying to live a "clean life," he lived with a special "parent-friend-counselor," Annette Haywood Ruskin. With Annette's help, Michael reconnected with the Bryant family in the summer of 2008. He lived with his aunt and uncle, Ruth Bryant and Dennis Confer, and their two sons, Mike and Charlie, and was embraced by his grandmother, Marilyn Bryant, his aunts, Dorna Hoft, and Liz Stough, his uncle, Steve, and his wife, El Jean, and many cousins. During this time, he had the opportunity to attend Century College, to explore his love of music and "making beats" in greater depth, and to attend a Storm Lake 4th of July 30th reunion of his mother's high school class and the wedding of his cousin Liza (Stough) Krocheski. In October of 2010, Michael Dean decided to return to Phoenix.
Life was not easy for Michael, but for a short time, he had the opportunity to become acquainted with his mother through pictures and stories and to experience the unconditional love of the Bryant family. He touched many lives in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Arizona. We all knew Michael's potential, his gifts, and his boyish charm. We are comforted by the knowledge that God is loving and forgiving, and we have faith that Michael Dean Goldin is now at peace in the arms of his true Father and with our sweet Margie.
