Michael A. Weaver, age 47, of Albert City, Iowa, died on November 13, 2011, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

Michael Alan Weaver was born on March 20, 1964, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Grace (Staples) Weaver. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Marathon.

Growing up, he lived in Marathon where he attended school and graduated from Laurens Marathon High School in 1982.

On September 29, 1984, Mike married Nancy Elsbecker. They were blessed with three children: Michelle, Cassie, and Alex.

A hard worker, Mike worked at Lind Turkey Farms, Hakes Foods, Furst McNess and as a farmhand. He also owned and operated Weaver Trucking. Mike was a volunteer fireman in Newell and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Laurens.

In his spare time, Mike took pleasure in helping others. He loved auto racing, camping, and playing cribbage. He enjoyed polishing motorcycles and entering them in contests with Alex, his son. Most of all, however, he loved his children and grandchildren and treasured spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Michelle (Andy) Reisner, of Albert City, Iowa, Cassie (Johnny Clay) Weaver, of Carroll, Iowa, and Alex Weaver, of Albert City, Iowa; his grandchildren: Kathern and Braden, of Albert City, Iowa; his sisters: Connie Weaver, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Candi (Larry) Nielsen, of Newell, Iowa; his niece, Amber Weaver, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; his nephews: Brandon Nielsen, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Bryce Nielsen, of Newell, Iowa, and Ian Morales, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; as well as extended family and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Grace (Staples) Weaver; his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Darlene (Sprong) Weaver; his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Ethel (Hoyal) Staples; several aunts and uncles; and a friend, Roger Nabity.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., November 17, 2011, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., November 18, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Marathon, Iowa.
Interment: November 18, 2011, at the Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon, Iowa.
