Pamela Christian
November 25, 1942 - August 17, 2004Pamela Marie (Doyle) Christian, age 61, of Sioux Rapids, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at her home.
Pamela Marie Doyle was born November 25, 1942, at Spencer to Donald and Gleda (Coppersmith) Doyle. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Methodist Church in Sioux Rapids. In later years, she became a member of the First United Church in Sioux Rapids.
She lived with her parents at their rural Sioux Rapids home as a child, attending Cornell School at Cornell before graduating from Sioux Rapids High School. Subsequently, Pamela graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Elementary Education. She later returned to school at Western Iowa Tech to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
After her marriage to Thomas Christian, Pamela treasured the years she spent raising her beloved family, and she found great joy in making a warm and comfortable home for them. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Joan, Paul, and Eric, as well as an elementary school teacher and later an L.P.N. She was a member of P.E.O, Eastern Star, the Methodist Church Choir and the Methodist Church Morning Circle. Pamela enjoyed reading and gardening in her spare time, but her greatest joy was always spending time with her family. She was a dear and caring grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joan M. Christian, of Brooklyn, New York; her two sons: Paul, and his wife, Angie Christian, and Eric, and his wife, Jenn Christian, both of Sioux Rapids; her grandson, Connor J. Christian of Sioux Rapids; her sister, Jane, and her husband, Allen Sievertsen, of Wausau, Nebraska; as well as extended family members and a host of friends.
Pamela's parents preceded her in death.
