Marie A. Crippin, age 81, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

One of twelve children, Marie A. Bradbury was born December 18, 1929, to Albert and Mary (Theophilus) Bradbury in Howard, South Dakota.

Marie attended school in Howard, South Dakota. After graduating from high school in 1947, she worked in a law office in Howard. Later, she moved to Minneapolis to work in the offices of Phillips Oil Company.

After having accepted the Lord, Marie was baptized as an adult. Later, she met Byron Crippin during young adult social activities at the church they both attended. Byron even joined the church choir just so he could spend more time with her.

On October 29, 1955, Marie and Byron married in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three children: Patricia, David, and Linda. Marie and Byron made their home first in Minneapolis, then later in Austin, Minnesota. They lived in Austin for many years before moving to Willmar, Minnesota. In 1995, they moved to Storm Lake.

While living in Austin, Marie worked in the Hormel corporate office until she and Byron started their family. She enjoyed her role as a full-time homemaker. A wonderful wife and mother, she was gracious to everyone. She had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and loved to play games and laugh. Marie cherished her family and all the times they were able to spend together.

Marie was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and was a clever writer. Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Byron, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her children: Patricia (Jose) Pardo, of Eagan, Minnesota, Dr. David (Glee) Crippin, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Linda Crippin, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren: Alexander (fiancée, Laura Briggs) Crippin, of Peterson, Iowa, and Nicholas Crippin, of Storm Lake, Iowa; her sisters: June Comstock, of Milbank, South Dakota, Iva Hyams, of Alta, Iowa, Beverly Prostrollo, of Deadwood, South Dakota, Margaret (Bill) Jewell, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Elizabeth Gensurowsky, of Bristol, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and many friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Tommy Bradbury, Theo Bradbury, Stuart Bradbury and Evert Bradbury; and her sisters: Edna Shove and Sylvia Jones.

Visitation: 2-4:00 p.m. May 09, 2011, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 4:00 p.m. May 09, 2011, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa.
Interment: May 09, 2011, at the Storm Lake Cemetery in Storm Lake, Iowa.
