Paul E. "Pep" Pyle, age 75, of Storm Lake, formerly of Newell and Carlisle, Pennsylvania, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center following a lengthy illness.

Paul Eldon Pyle was born December 18, 1926, in Kent, Ohio, the son of Raymond P. and Jessie (Horner) Pyle. He graduated from Storm Lake High School with the class of 1944. He then entered the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II.

Upon his return from the service, Paul moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. In 1995, he moved to Newell, and in February 2001, he moved to Storm Lake.

He was a member of the Newell United Methodist Church, Jewel Masonic Lodge #309 of Storm Lake, Zembo Shrine Temple of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Loyal Order of Moose #790 and Amvets Post #66, both of Storm Lake, and Heavy Equipment Operators Local #542 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Susanne P. Stover and her husband, Robert, Gardners, PA; a son Paul H. Pyle and his wife, Kathy, Palmyra, PA; five grandchildren; Scott R. Stover and his wife, Amy, Rebecca A. Stover, Trevor Pyle, Thea Pyle and Tate Pyle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine Pyle and by a sister, Elaine Keesee.

The family requests that memorials in Paul's memory may be given to the Newell United Methodist Church.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 26, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Newell with Reverend Geneva Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery with full military honors by Amvets Post #66 of Storm Lake.

Friends may call at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home, 300 Cayuga Street, Storm Lake, after 3 p.m. on Thursday where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
