Florence G. Forsberg - Mar. 26, 1910* - July 1, 2010

Florence Gwendolyn Forsberg, age 100, passed away peacefully in Moorhead, Minn. on July 1, 2010.

Florence was born in Chicago, Ill., [on March 26, 1910,]* and her family moved to Albert City when she was a young girl. She attended Albert City High School.

She and her husband Carl and family lived in Albert City until 1958 when they moved to Fort Dodge. In 1961, they moved to Minneapolis, Minn.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the Lutheran Bible Institute and then as a bookkeeper for Golden Valley Lutheran College until it closed in 1985. In 2007, she moved to the Eventide Lutheran Home for assisted care in Moorhead, Minn.

She is survived by her sister, Harriet, in the Albert City Nursing Home; her sons: Charles Forsberg (Mary) in Edina, Minn.; Paul Forsberg (Lois) in Minnetonka, Minn.; Lou Forsberg (Debbie) in Maple Grove, Minn.; and daughter, Mary Lillestol (Mike) in Fargo, N.D.; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Carl Ewald Forsberg; her parents, William and Anna Jafvert; her brothers: Lester, Ray, Lloyd and Glen; and her sisters: Miriam and Vivian.

A service of remembrance will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City on July 12, 2010, at 1 p.m. with interment in the Fairfield Township Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at the church. Arrangements are under the supervision of the Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Albert City.
