July 14, 1939 - July 30, 2010

Joyce Hebbel, the daughter of Louis and Myrtle (Lichtenberg) Gertsmeier, was born July 14, 1939, in Storm Lake. She was raised on a farm in the Storm Lake area where she received her education, graduating from Storm Lake High School on May 28, 1957. After high school, she worked for Citizens Bank in Storm Lake.

Joyce married Wilbur (Willie) Hebbel on May 27, 1966, in Denver, Colo. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer where she worked with Willie as co-owners of Midwest Piano and Organ Company. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Joyce enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, visiting with friends and going out to eat.

Joyce passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Willie, on Jan. 13, 2008.

Left to cherish her memory are her stepson, Larry Geisinger and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer and their family, a stepson, Norm Hebbel, of Arizona and a stepdaughter, Cheri Leister, of San Antonio, TX, and her family; her goddaughter, Megan (Kramer) Sampson of Urbandale; other relatives and many friends.

Services were held on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, for Joyce Hebbel of Spencer at the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Rev. Patti Haaheim officiated the service. Interment was held in the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. The Warner Funeral Home in Spencer was in charge of the arrangements.
