Trudie Lue Nord - Sept. 20, 1943 - July 20, 2010

Trudie Lue Putnam Nord was born on Sept. 20, 1943, to Homer (Bud) Putnam and Hazel Ellis Putnam at Albert City. She passed away July 20,* 2010, at her home in Storm Lake, three months after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Trudie had polio in 1952. She was treated at home and was home-schooled for the 4th grade. She graduated from Albert City-Truesdale High School in 1961.

Trudie and Art Meyers were married in 1961. The couple had four children. They later divorced. She married Ken Nord in 1974.

Trudie worked at several different places in Storm Lake. She enjoyed babysitting and having foreign students stay in their home.

Trudie had many hobbies - reading, sewing and doing altering, embroidery, home repairs, camping and using the computer.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee and the Moose Lodge in Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her father; a sister-in-law, Sandy; two nephews, Jared and Tom; and a niece, Jodi.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Nord; her mother, Hazel Putnam; four children, Tim (Lynda) Meyers of Blue Springs, Mo., Tami (Jeff) Ebel of Storm Lake, Terry (Peggy) Meyers of Alta, and Ty (Annie) Meyers of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren - Mitchell, Katie, Amanda, Kily, Kelsie, Kenzie, Nick, Emilee, Adam, Lyndi; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Taylor; three brothers, Roger (Vicki), Jim (Marji), and John (Joyce); and two sisters, Peggy (Wayne) Putnam Hood and Polly (Mike) Jansen; in addition to several nieces, nephews and friends.
