Kristi K. Emmick, 44, Dakota Dunes, SD, formerly of Newell, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Kristi Grau was born December 24, 1957, in Storm Lake to Holger and Kay (Raper) Grau. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. She graduated from the Omaha School of Nursing and also attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, graduating in 1984 with a BA Degree in Business Administration and Education.

She married Robert S. Emmick May 14, 1988, in Newell. She was employed as a medical assistant with a private medical practice and also worked as an advertising speciatist for the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune in Storm Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Jason and Cameron Emmick, her mother, Kay Grau of Newell; a brother, Harlan Grau and his wife Sharon of Newell; two stepsons, Michial Emmick and his wife Angela of Kansas City, MO.; and Brain Emmick and his wife Anita of Great Falls, MN.; one stepdaughter, Gina Emmick of Chicago; four stepgrandchildren, Nina and Nichole Emmick and Bradley and Ashley Emmick.

Memorials in her name may be directed to the Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.

Funeral Services for Kristi K. Emmick were held Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Marvin Mueller officiating.

Burial was in Newell Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Hagen officiating.
