Milton Phillips - Feb. 19, 1938 - Jan. 5, 2008

Milton Phillips, age 69, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake following a short illness.

Milton Phillips was born on February 19, 1938, to John and Ethel (Adkinson) Phillips in Cherino, Texas. He lived with his family and attended school through the eleventh grade in Cherino.

On June 15, 1971, Milton was united in marriage to Marjorie Orr in Plano, Texas. He was associated with Mark’s Market in Roseberg, Oregon, as assistant manager for nine years. They later moved to Dallas, Texas, where Milton was associated with Kroeger Foods as assistant manager.

Milton was a member of the Moose Lodge and was voted Moose Man of the Year in 2006. He was a 20-year member of Local 177 Labor Union in Des Moines, Iowa. He loved camping, listening to western music and horses. Milton found great enjoyment living the farm life on the Brecher family farm near Storm Lake.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Marjorie of Storm Lake; one brother, James Adkinson of San Angelo, Texas; nieces: Britainy Young and Kim Schmitz of Gladbrook, Iowa; Sharon Michelson of Storm Lake and Sherrie Young of Des Moines, Iowa; as well a host of friends.

Preceding Milton in death were his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Private family services were held under the direction of The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
