Fred Weiland passed away Jan.8, 1957 at a Storm Lake Hospital. Fred was the oldest son of Carl and Anna Weiland who preceded him in death. He was born in Cherokee county and when a small boy moved with the family to the farm in Buena Vista county.

He was united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1923 to Mary Delbridge and they resided in Truesdale until the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mary; brothers, Carl of MN and George of Truesdale; three sisters, Amanda Williams of LaGrange, IL, Rose Noble of Oelwein and Clara Ohrtman of Pocahontas; two aunts, Mrs. Ida Franzmeier of Albert City and Mrs. Siena Weiland of Galva.
One brother, John, and one sister, Margaret, preceded him in death.

Services were held at the Assembly of God Church in Truesdale. He was laid to rest in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake.
