December 1945--- From the horse and buggy age down thru the years--45 of them--Dr. Barton Bridge was a familiar figure visiting the sick in Albert City and surrounding areas. Dr. Bridge succumbed to injuries on Sunday, Dec.23 which he received in a automobile accident on Dec. 2 which also cost the life of his wife who preceded him in death by 18 days.

Dr. Bridge was one of Buena Vista County's oldest and most widely known physicians. He was also a prominent figure in his community life. He served on the Albert city school board for many years and was a past president of that body. He was an extensive property holder and still owned the Brader Business building at Lake avenue and 6th street in Storm Lake as well as residential property and farmland near Albert City.

He was born in West Brook, Ontario, Canada on Nov. 29, 1871 to Andrew Bridge and Mahala Smith.
