Augusta (Johanson) Lundberg

Mrs. Augusta Albertina Lundberg (nee Johanson) was born in Skara Bors Lan Sweden on March 2, 1869. She quietly and peacefully left this life on May 20, 1952.

On December 2, 1893 she was united in marriage to Carl H. Lundberg. They made their home in Cherokee and then moved to Marathon. They spent the greater part of their lives in the Marathon, Albert City, Laurens area.

For the past 13 years Augusta has resided on a farm west of Rembrandt with her daugher Edythe. Mr. Lundberg died May 14, 1941.

Ten children blessed their home. Three died in infancy and seven remain to mourn the loss of their mother. They are Esther (Cliff Anderson) of Steilacoom, WA; Edythe; Elim of Graettinger; Judith and Eldon of Aryshire; Elsie (Elmer Peterson) of Alta and Ebner of Linn Grove.

Mrs. Lundberg accepted Christ as her personal Savior in a series of revival meetings conducted by Rev. Fred Nelson in a school house near Albert City. At that time she joined the Evangelical Free Church of Albert City.
Burial was made at the Memorial Cemetery in Storm Lake.
