Audrey Naughton - May 30, 1918 - Sept. 19, 2008

Audrey Naughton, age 90, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Friday, September 19, 2008, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Audrey was born on May 30, 1918, in Ware, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Smkovski) Wolf. She graduated from Ware High School in Ware, Iowa.

On September 13, 1937, Audrey was united in marriage to Alfred Naughton at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa. They were blessed with five children: Janice, Alfred, Anita, Edward and Randy.

Audrey was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Mary’s Guild. She also helped as an election volunteer. Audrey found much happiness spending time and playing with her grandchildren. She also delighted in baking and sharing her many goodies with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Janice Koebele and her husband, Don, of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; Afred Naughton of Carroll, Iowa; Anita Sauer and her husband, Richard, of St. Louis, Missouri; Edward Naughton and his wife, Shirley of Lake City, Iowa; Randy Naughton and his wife Karen of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Todd Koebele, Jon Koebele, Tony Koebele, David Naughton, Michelle Bernholtz, Cherri Johnson, Cory Naughton, Jon Naughton, Adam Naughton, Michael Naughton, Danielle Andersen, Elizabeth Naughton, Stephanie Flotron, Jennifer Egleston, Aaron Sauer, Brian Naughton, Jeff Naughton, Keith Naughton, Jamie Naughton, Christopher Naughton, Jason Naughton, Alicia Dreessen, Kerry Naughton and Sean Naughton; forty-two great grandchildren; one sister, Deldene O’Connor and her husband, Jack, of Tempe, Arizona; and other extended family and friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Naughton; two brothers and two sisters.

A funeral mass will be said at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 3:30-8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home at 1615 W. Milwaukee Ave. in Storm Lake with a Legion of Mary rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m.
